Membership FAQs

Q.) How do I become a member?

A.) Please see the "Join" Page on our website, or click here. Memberships are on a rolling basis and include 12 months of New England Chapter meetings and benefits, excluding the Summer Outing and Day of Education.

Q.) What is the difference between Direct and Allied Community memberships in the New England BTA Chapter?

A.) Direct members are those whose jobs entail the purchase of travel services (Corporate Travel Manager, Procurement, etc.). Allied members are those whose jobs involve in the sale of travel products and services (Travel Management Company, Airline, Car Rental, Hotel, Ground Transportation etc.).

Q.) What is the difference between a Community membership and a GBTA All Access Membership?

A.) A Community Membership is for New England Chapter meetings only. An All-Access Membership includes both your national GBTA membership and New England Chapter Membership.

Q.) What is the benefit of a GBTA All Access Membership?

A.) A complete breakdown of what is included in a Community-Only, GBTA-Only, or GBTA All Access Membership is outlined here.

Q.) If I am a Direct, GBTA All Access Member, do I have to purchase the $100 Bundled Meeting Package, or pay the $50 per meeting fee?

A.) No. A Direct All Access Member does not have to pay the Bundled Meeting Package, nor will they have to pay a $50 per meeting fee. This only applies to Allied GBTA All Access Members. Once a Direct Member joins or renews as an All Access Member with the GBTA, no further action is required on the New England Chapter level.

Q.) Where do I purchase the $100 Bundled Meeting Package if I am an Allied, GBTA All Access Member?

A.) You can purchase the $100 Bundled Meeting Package by logging in to your local account and clicking "Renew". If you are a new member, you can go to and purchase it by clicking "Join Now" under that option.

Q.) If I am a GBTA All Access Member (Either Direct or Allied), how does the New England Chapter know?

A.) The GBTA and the New England Chapter's databases are synced. Once you become an All Access member and designate New England as your Community Chapter, we will have your information and renewal dates in our system.

Q.) How many people from my company can join the New England Chapter?

A.) One or more persons per company may join as Direct or Allied members.

Q.) How much are the membership dues?

A.) Annual Community dues are $275 for Allied Community Members, and $175 for Direct Community Members. Annual Community Membership is valid for 12 months from membership join or renewal date.

GBTA All Access Memberships are managed by the GBTA, however, Allied All Access Members have an additional cost of paying $50 per meeting, or purchasing the $100 Annual Bundled Meeting Package from the New England Chapter.

Q.) What’s included in my annual community membership dues?

A) Annual community membership includes admission to every meeting for 12 months from membership join or renewal date.  This excludes the Day of Education and the Summer Outing. Other benefits can be found in the breakdown here.

Q.) What happens at NEBTA meetings?

A.) The agendas vary; generally meetings include an opportunity for networking and industry discussion; an educational program on relevant and timely industry issues, as well as a meal or light reception.

Q.) How often does NEBTA meet?

A.) The schedule varies from January to December; please visit our meetings and events page on the website for additional details. The December meeting is a Holiday event and auction to raise money for our organization’s scholarship fund. In early June, we hold an annual summer outing and golf event.

Q.) How can I get involved in NEBTA?

A.) NEBTA is an all-volunteer association. NEBTA’s committees always welcome new additions, ideas and perspectives. For those who are unable to commit to working on a committee, there are often ad hoc projects that require additional resources. Leadership opportunities are available through participation as an officer or committee chair. Please contact the Director of Volunteerism.

Q.) My company has cut back on expenses. How can be confident that a membership in NEBTA is worthwhile?

A.) Membership in any organization must have a return on investment or it isn’t worth the member’s time or money. A membership in NEBTA offers opportunities to meet and benchmark with industry counterparts, keep up with industry news and new product offerings, participate in excellent educational events, and apply for scholarships to fund additional industry education and training.
